You are invited to return to Sunday Service in our Sanctuary, and we have developed a system to help you re-enter at the level of comfort that works best for you.
Some of our members are still most comfortable wearing masks and others are showing up mask-free. We have arranged the sanctuary so you still have room to social distance if you choose, however, you can also sit by your friends if it’s good for both of you.
You may pick up a colored badge at the door to help inform people how you’re moving about the world. A green badge welcomes hugs and indicates you are not social distancing, yellow shows you’re still being cautious and need people to ask before touching or hugging, and red tells people you prefer masking and distancing. We also have seat markers available to put on the chairs next to you for safe distancing, should you desire.
We have installed drop boxes in the back of the sanctuary and in the bookstore near the Holmes Base table for you to deposit your offering, as we will not be passing the offering plate. We especially thank you for remembering to financially support WVCSL! To keep our Center thriving we need a good flow of income, and we are confident the world needs our message more than ever.
We are delighted to create this structure which gives us an opportunity to respect each other and personally communicate what’s important to each individual. This is a way each of us can be accountable for our own well-being without worrying about what others may think, because we are making a statement of empowerment and love, not only by making a choice, but by respecting others who choose differently. Through the eyes of this minister, it is the beginning of a great healing the world has been waiting for.
Also, we will continue to produce a hybrid service, meaning we will broadcast live on Facebook and post on YouTube and our website archives, so you have many ways to keep connected.
Things are definitely looking up for the Fall. Classes, fundraisers, book studies and programs are all resuming, and we will preserve the structure of many of our online activities for your convenience. We are here, we are excited, and we are ready to welcome you back whenever you are ready to return!
My tender love to all,
Rev. Karen
